DiDi Richards is signing a deal with the Washington Mystics, she announced on a podcast with ESPN’s Terrika Foster-Brasby. Richards is currently playing in Australia for the Sydney Flames, compiling a strong season with averages of 12.6 points per game (PPG), 6.5 rebounds per game (RPG), and 1.2 steals per game (SPG).
The Baylor graduate was drafted by the New York Liberty in the second round of the 2021 draft, and she played two seasons with the team. Richards spent the majority of 2023 getting healthy, and she spoke candidly about that time off on an episode of Pull Up with Myles and Owen last fall. She is a switchable, hard-nosed defender and an absolute team player, which will be a lift for a new-era Mystics team that will be searching anew for its identity.
