The New York Liberty have signed Ivana Dojkić to a training camp contract, ESPN’s Alexa Phillipou reported on Thursday. The Liberty have since confirmed the report.
Dojkić, 26, came to the WNBA by way of Croatia, signing a contract with the Seattle Storm back in February of 2023 after spending her career hopping from team to team in Europe. She played part of last season with the Storm, providing some solid backup guard minutes for a team that struggled to find its footing following the departure of Breanna Stewart.
Dojkić averaged 6.5 points, 2.8 assists, and 1.7 rebounds with the Storm last season, shooting 41.8 percent from three-point range on 2.4 attempts. In EuroLeague play with Bologna this season, she is averaging 14.7 points, 3.7 assists, 2.2 rebounds, and 1 steal.
Looking to shore up its guard depth this offseason with the impending loss of Marine Johannes to an Olympic year, New York hopes Dojkić can provide some defensive mettle on the perimeter while maintaining her shooting efficiency from 2023.
