Stef Dolson to the Mystics on Multiyear Deal

Stefanie Dolson has agreed to a multiyear deal with the Washington Mystics, per Kareem Copeland of the Washington Post.

Dolson, 32, is headed into her 10th year in the WNBA. This is a reunion for Dolson, who was drafted by the Mystics back in 2014 out of the University of Connecticut. Dolson was later traded to the Chicago Sky along with Kahleah Copper and the 2017 second overall pick in exchange for Elene Delle Donne. Dolson went on to win a championship with the Sky in 2021. After winning the title (and hitting two huge shots near the end of game four’s series-clincher), Dolson signed a deal with the New York Liberty in 2022. She spent 2023 as a reserve after starting in her first year with the team, playing in relief of star center Jonquel Jones, who was acquired through a blockbuster trade last winter.

In 23 games, Dolson averaged 4.0 points per game (PPG) along with 2.0 rebounds per game (RPG), 1.2 assists per game (APG) and shooting 51.5 percent from the field. For her career, Dolson has averaged 8.8 PPG on 50.3 percent shooting, 4.6 RPG, and 1.8 APG. We now look ahead to 2024 to see if Dolson’s all-around game improves after missing much of last year due to injury.
