Brionna Jones is running it back with the Atlanta Dream for 2026, re-signing as a cornerstone presence in the paint after a statement first season in the A.
Jones wanted to be an All-Star last season. Her teammates were campaigning for her, and the Atlanta Dream made up a t-shirt for her, joining Rhyne Howard and Allisha Gray. She made it eventually as a reserve, but she took it personally. And her play on the floor showed it.
Her first season out of Connecticut was a success, continuing to be one of the top post players in the league. There are few players in the league who have the elite-level footwork that Jones has, but she was able to space the floor for the first time in her career, posing a threat from outside of the key for the first time in her career.
Jones recovered from a torn Achilles in 2023 without slowing down at all. While her international season came to a close with a torn meniscus in 2025, there are no concerns about her heading into training camp. Jones has always been a quiet star. She’s fine with that, and her team will be, too.
