Guard Brittney Sykes has signed a two-year, max contract with the Toronto Tempo, per Alexa Philippou.
Sykes is coming off the best year of basketball in her 9-year career. In 2025, she received her first All-Star nod. Despite being traded from the Washington Mystics to the Seattle Storm midseason, Sykes remained consistent and efficient.

Through the 2025 season, Sykes averaged 14.1 points, 3.2 rebounds, 4.0 assists, and 1.2 steals per game. Her numbers decreased slightly when she was traded to Seattle, as expected, joining such scoring powerhouses as Nneka Ogwumike and Skylar Diggins.
Brittney Sykes’ defensive threat follows her wherever she goes; she’s received four All-Defensive team nods during her career. Despite turning 32 this past season, her agility and athleticism are at their most dominant ever. She brings her two-way intensity to the Toronto Tempo, along with an elite level of leadership. In 2026, we can expect her to continue making plays on both ends of the court and being a consistent go-to player for the expansion franchise.
