Chicago Sky sign seven-time all-star Skylar Diggins

Skylar Diggins

The Chicago Sky have signed seven-time All-Star Skylar Diggins, the team announced, adding a veteran floor general and leadership to their backcourt.

Diggins is in the final years of her playing career, but her performances on the court suggest she still has plenty left in the tank. The 35-year-old has journeyed across the league during her 10-year career, most recently playing with the Seattle Storm. Known as a scoring point guard, Diggins evolved more into a playmaker in her second season with Seattle, while still stepping up as a scorer when needed.

Last season with the Storm, Diggins averaged 31.2 minutes, 15.5 points, 2.5 rebounds, 6.0 assists, and 1.2 steals per game. Her performance during the season and into the playoffs earned her a seventh All-Star selection.

While Diggins may be nearing the latter stage of her career, her impact remains significant. Championship-caliber teams often rely on veteran leadership that extends beyond the box score — and that is exactly what Diggins brings to Chicago this season.
