The Atlanta Dream have reached a deal with three-time All-Star, 2022 Rookie of the Year Rhyne Howard for a fifth season.
If you want consistency, Rhyne Howard fills that need. While she shoots at a low percentage, she’s scored at least 17.3 points per game in three straight seasons for the Atlanta Dream. Under Karl Smesko last year, Howard thrived in a fast-paced offense that focused on a high-volume approach.
With the Dream in 2025, Howard averaged 9.6 three-point attempts per game – ranking No. 1 in the league by 1.6 attempts. While she’s a walking bucket, don’t forget about her defense. Howard is one of the top perimeter defenders in the league, and she posted a career-best 1.8 wins shares last year.
Howard is just now entering her prime in her age-26 season, and she’s ready to step into the forefront of the league instead of being a player who gets the “underrated superstar” tag. While she can still go “Iso Rhy” at times on offense and she shoots at a low percentage (consistency works both ways), there are few players who can make an elite impact on both sides of the ball like she can.
