Candice Dupree has found a new team to call home as the league’s fourth all-time leading scorer has signed with the Atlanta Dream.
The sixth overall pick in the 2006 WNBA Draft out of Temple University, Dupree reunites with a familiar face in interim head coach Darius Taylor. Taylor was an assistant coach at Temple under Hall of Famer Dawn Staley.
Dupree, a seven-time WNBA All-Star, comes to Atlanta with career averages of 14.1 ppg and 6.4 rpg. Dupree has started 466 out of 484 regular-season games and all 31 of her playoff games. Winning the 2014 WNBA Finals as a member of the Phoenix Mercury, Dupree provides championship experience and veteran leadership for the Dream roster.
Known for her efficient mid-range jumper, she’ll join a team that will be without the services of Cheyenne Parker in the post when the season picks back up again.
The Dream (6-13) will face the Mercury on the road Aug. 15 when the season resumes.
