This free agency class is not as touted as the antecedent one, but still comes with some big names around the league that could realistically find new homes this winter. A reminder for those who need it:
Restricted Free Agents (RFA): these players can sign with any team, but their previous teams have the right of first refusal, meaning should another team sign them, the previous team has the right to match that contract.
Unrestricted Free Agents (UFA): these players can sign with any team they choose.
Reserved Free Agents (Reserved): players with three or fewer years of experience can be subjected to a qualifying offer. If a team extends these players a qualifying offer, the team has exclusive negotiating rights with said players.
Suspended: if a player’s contract has been suspended, they do not become a free agent when their contract expires. Instead, the team still holds exclusive negotiating rights, but do not need to extend a qualifying offer to negotiate.
