Moriah Jefferson is now a member of the Phoenix Mercury, her third team in two seasons, after signing a multi-year contract.
Though Jefferson’s 2022 season began with release from the Dallas Wings, she joined the Minnesota Lynx and immediately established herself as a starter in Minneapolis, averaging 10.8 points, a career-high 4.9 assists, and 2.5 rebounds in 26.8 minutes per game.
The production was an encouraging sign for Jefferson, who had seen her playing time and statistics stagnate during her time in Dallas. Her comeback season hit a high point when she became the first Lynx player to ever record a triple-double, posting 13 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists against her former team.

The six-year veteran joins a Phoenix squad in need of help at the point guard position, with the status of All-WNBA player Skylar Diggins-Smith still up in the air following her pregnancy announcement last fall.
Jefferson entered the WNBA as the second overall pick in the 2016 draft by the San Antonio Stars. Prior to her professional career, she was a four-time national champion and two-time Nancy Lieberman Award recipient at UConn.
