Brionna Jones Re-signs with Connecticut

Brionna Jones is returning to the Connecticut Sun on a one-year deal.

This past offseason, Jones was extended a core qualifying offer by the Connecticut Sun, which then led to a one-year contract to stay with the team. The Sun extended a core qualifying offer to Jones this offseason as well.

The two-time WNBA All-Star was well on her way to a third straight All-Star appearance until she suffered a ruptured Achilles tendon after only 13 games. After winning the Most Improved Player award in 2021 and the Sixth Player of the Year award in 2022, she came out firing to start the 2023 campaign. Last season, she averaged a career best 15.9 points per game (PPG), 8.2 rebounds per game (RPG), 2.4 assists per game (APG), and 1.8 steals per game (SPG) prior to the season-ending injury.

Now, entering her eighth season, the 28-year-old looks to pick up right where she left off. After spending time healing and with her alma mater Maryland as a Director of Player Personnel, we can’t wait for Breezy to return to a WNBA floor.
