Shey Peddy has signed the reserved qualifying offer to return to the Phoenix Mercury, sources have told Winsidr.
Peddy, selected by the Chicago Sky with the 23rd overall pick in the 2012 WNBA Draft, made her WNBA debut in the 2019 season with the Mystics as a 30-year-old rookie.
The 5-foot-7 guard appeared in nine games for the Mystics in 2020 then finished the season with the Mercury after being waived in August. Peddy hit the game-winning 3-pointer against her former team in the playoffs as Phoenix defeated Washington to advance to the second round of the playoffs.
With three or fewer years of service going into the offseason, Peddy was a reserved player, giving the Mercury exclusive negotiating rights.
In 17 games during the 2020 regular season playing for both the Mercury and the Mystics, Peddy averaged 3.8 points, 2.1 rebounds, and 1.8 assists.
